Studded belts were produced from the 1930s to the 1950s. They are now rare items, with only a few dozen appearing on the market each year.
In 1994, after going independent, owner ZIP STEVENSON discovered the perfect belt to complement denim, the studded belt, through his buying trips across the United States.
However, he couldn't acquire enough in terms of size, quantity, or condition to meet customer demand.
So, he began hand-crafting belts using the tools and jewelry of the era. After a year, he created a belt that met his standards, with a handmade feel that evoked the passage of 70 years. This marked the beginning of ZIP and the belt.
Five years later, in 2000, HOLLYWOOD TRADING COMPANY (HTC) was established, becoming a beloved belt brand worldwide, as it remains today.
HTC takes pride in being one of the few brands across the U.S. that are MADE IN USA / Made in Los Angeles, CA., and will continue to maintain its unchanging handmade quality into the future.
