Studded belts were produced from the 1930s to the 1950s. They are now rare items, with only a few dozen appearing on the market each year.
In 1994, after going independent, owner ZIP STEVENSON discovered studded belts, the best match for denim, through buying trips across America.
However, he couldn't acquire enough in terms of size, quantity, or condition to meet customer demand.
So, using tools and jewelry from that era, he began crafting them. After one year, he completed a belt that met his satisfaction, a handmade item that made 70 years feel like a blink of an eye. This was the beginning of Zip and the belt.
Five years later, in 2000, HOLLYWOOD TRADING COMPANY (HTC) became a beloved belt brand worldwide, as it remains today.
