Vintage overalls from PAY DAY, which was sold as a private brand of J.C. Penney.

Featuring a tricolor red and yellow tag on a white background, tags from the 1950s generally did not have a registered trademark mark (®), and since this item has a tag with the ®, it can be identified as a piece from around the 1960s.

A piece that fully features rugged and sturdy details typical of workwear from that era, such as a high-back design where the back fabric extends up to the suspenders and triple stitching on the center seam. A diamond-shaped tag also remains on the back.

The real work damage, such as the repair on the right back hem and the replacement of the right suspender fastener, tells a story of actual use on the job site and is part of its appeal.
