[Ganscraft]
Julius Gans, originally a lawyer from Chicago, Illinois,
After a trip to New Mexico, he went from collector to businessman, and in 1915, to meet the growing number of tourists, he opened Julius Gans' Southwestern Arts and Crafts on the Plaza South side of Santa Fe.
"Ganscraft" and "SOUTHWEST ATRS & CRAFTS" are the company's brand names.
Later, in the 1930s, Ganscraft is said to have commercialized the "Chimayo Purse," which featured a Talon zipper, lining, and Navajo silver buttons.
