Manufactured around 2000, the R2 Body Rug Pullover is a masterpiece representing Patagonia's technical "Regulator R series." This is an early-generation R2 with overwhelmingly long and dense pile, setting it apart from current fleeces.

Made with Polartec's high-loft fleece, its structure allows it to hold a lot of air, providing extremely high insulation despite its light weight. Among R2s, models with particularly excellent cold protection were affectionately called "Body Rugs" and are said to be the ultimate mid-layer.

Details include a half-zip design and Patagonia's characteristic diagonally placed chest zip pocket. The left chest features a classic mountain logo tag, and the original tags inside with Regulator R and Polartec markings remain, making this a piece that strongly retains the details of that era.

The color is a vibrant royal blue, an outdoor color symbolic of Patagonia around the turn of the millennium. It has a strong presence whether worn as an inner layer under a shell or on its own.
