Stud belts produced between the 1930s and 1950s. Today, these are rare items, with only a few dozen available on the market each year.
In 1994, after going independent, owner Zip Stevenson discovered stud belts—the belts he believed suited denim best—while buying from across the United States.
However, they were so difficult to acquire in the right sizes, quantities, and conditions that he could not meet customer demand.
He began using tools and jewelry from that era to set the studs himself. After a year, he had perfected handmade belts that met his exacting standards and made the 70-year-old manufacturing process feel as though it had never been forgotten. This marked the beginning of Zip and his belts.
Five years later, in 2000, the brand was established as HOLLYWOOD TRADING COMPANY (HTC), and it continues today as a belt brand loved around the world.
HTC takes great pride in being one of the few brands in the United States to be MADE IN USA / Made in Los Angeles, CA, and remains committed to its unchanging handmade approach.
