【Product Description】

This is an extremely rare vintage school roll map manufactured by Denoyer-Geppert Co., a historic American educational materials manufacturer, from the 1940s to 1950s.

The most distinctive feature of this model from the "Cartocraft Slated" series is its black canvas surface treated with a special slate (blackboard) finish. Designed so that teachers could use chalk to write routes and place names in schools at the time and erase them with a wiper or damp cloth when finished, it is a masterpiece full of industrial functional beauty. It depicts the United States during the "48-state era" before Alaska and Hawaii were elevated to statehood, bringing the worldview of that time directly to the present day.

The wooden roller retaining its rich patina from age, the original management label remaining at the bottom, and the yellow and blue color scheme that stands out vividly against the black background exude a unique presence unique to American vintage from the mid-century period. As a leading item that can completely transform the atmosphere of a space just by hanging it on the wall, it is a collector's item that will show overwhelming appeal not only in your home study or living room, but also as a store display in cafes, apparel shops, garages, and other commercial spaces.
